Lizzo Is Collaborating With Amazon Prime On A New TV Show

First we had J-Lo in The Wedding Planner. Then we had Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born. And now? A TV show from Lizzo and Amazon Prime is coming, and honestly, we’ve never been more ready.

The ‘Juice’ singer revealed over the weekend [9 August] that she was teaming up with the streaming service for an exciting future project, though details are currently quite under wraps.

“I’m so excited to partner with the amazing team at Amazon,” Lizzo said in a statement. “Thank you to Jen Salke [Head of Amazon Studios] and the rest of the team for making this dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world.”

Salke added:

“Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative, joyful artists in the industry, and it is such a pleasure to announce this new deal with her. She has such a unique perspective and we’re so excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video customers are sure to love.”

Joyful? Exciting? Unique? We couldn’t have said it better love.”

This isn’t Lizzo’s first foray into the acting world. The 32-year-old – real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson – starred in 2019 film Hustlers, and played a stripper who worked at the same New York City club as Jennifer Lopez and co.

Could that mean we can expect some big time celebrity cameos in Lizzo’s new project too? Either way, we’ll be watching.
