Tekashi 6ix9ine Is Being Sued By Concert Promoters For $5.3 Million

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is set to be sued by two concert promoters for $5.3million (£4.2m) over a 2018 gig. Promotoers Benhur Tesfalidet and Anton Alexander are accusing the controversial hitmaker of fraud, breach of contract and defamation.

According to Complex, the promoters allege that the FeFe rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, cancelled a gig without notice back in 2018 before going on to perform at another venue on the same night. He had been scheduled to perform at Washington DC‘s Echostage Club in October 2018 but reportedly pulled up of the gig.

Instead, the rapper appeared at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse concert in New Jersey. But Tekashi had allegedly already pocketed $58,470 (roughly £46,000) in advance fees, although Complex reports that the rapper claims he never received payment.

Tekashi 6ix9ine reportedly pulled out a gig in 2018, after already getting paid part of his fee. The suit also alleges that Hernandez made defamatory remarks about the plaintiffs on social media. The promoters originally filed a lawsuit in 2018, but withdrew it six months later. Tekashi 6ix9ine was recently released from prison.

Meanwhile, 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj are putting the proceeds from their new song towards The Bail Project amid the latest resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement. The rappers have teamed up on the track Trollz and say they are using it to help the cause.

Nicki shared that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Bail Project, which ‘provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals’. Posting on Instagram on Wednesday, the star said: ‘A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc. ‘The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial.
