The 15-year-old shooter who opened fire on his Michigan high school was identified by authorities as Ethan Crumbley at a press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Ethan shot and killed 4 students and injured 7 others when he opened fired at Oxford High School in Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Ethan carried out the shooting with a semi-automatic handgun his father purchased on Black Friday. He will be charged as an adult with one count of terrorism, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

One post, shared after his father bought the gun on Black Friday,  reads: “Just got my new beauty today.”

Photos show Oxford High School shooter posing with gun before sharing countdown to the school shooting During a video arraignment on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 1, authorities told a judge that investigators had recovered two separate videos from the suspect’s cellphone, which were made the night before the incident. He talked about shooting and killing students the next day at Oxford High. A journal in his backpack also detailed his desire to “shoot up the school,” authorities said.

Prior to the shooting, school officials had concerns about his behavior in the classroom so they invited his parents, Jennifer and James crumbley, for a face to face meeting on the day of the shooting, just three hours before Ethan went on a shooting spree.

Karen D. McDonald, the Oakland County prosecutor said she is also considering charges against the suspect’s parents.

The suspect had also met with school officials about concerning behavior on Monday, Nov. 29, a day before the shooting.

Hours after his parents’ meeting with the school, the suspect emerged from a bathroom and started firing at students in the school’s hallway, the authorities said on Wednesday after reviewing video footage of the attack.
